If one acts in accordance with the Guru's directions, although what is in one's lot may not get dispelled, it will surely becomes bearable

To a person who was attending the sacred festival of  Gurupournima, Shri Maharaj said, "Many observe the practice of visiting Pandharpur or Alandi, every Ekadashi (The eleventh day of the waxing or waning of the moon)". Similarly, do observe the practice of visiting here regularly, every Pournima(the day of full moon), " for a period of five to six months." Because of some difficulties, he was not able to do as Shri Maharaj had bidden him. Soon after, he took ill with an affliction of the liver. The illness took a turn for the worse. A well-wisher enquired of Shri Maharaj, in confidence, whether there was any danger to his life. Shri Maharaj clearly said that the suffering would last for five or six months, and that there was no danger to his life. When the person had gained enough strength to travel, he visited Shri Maharaj. Shri Maharaj said to him, "It was because I could see that this was in store for you that I had suggested that you visit here every Pournima. If you had done so, the suffering in your lot might  no have been avoided, but it would have been bearable.Rama would certainly have given you enough strength to visit here every Pournima.

Uniqueness of Rama of Gondavale

Uniqueness of Rama of Gondavale - The very Desire To ask for Mundane favours Disappears.

Shri Maharaj once enquired, " Have you paid a visit to Rama?".  Some said, "Yes" and some said, " We are going to go there". At Rama's remembrance, Shri Maharaaj was, for a moment, overcome by emotion, and said, " I wish that everyone, whenever he comes here, pays a visit to Rama. My Rama may grant you the mundane things you ask of Him, if your destiny is favourable; but rather, when you have visited Rama time and again, He will eradicate the very desire to ask for mundane things; that is His speciality. "Someone said, "But Rama is omnipresent; what is the special importance of Rama of this place?" Shri Maharaj turned to him, and began to en-quire about him. He narrated that he worked in a motor car garage at charging the batteries used in cars. The factory had a high voltage electrical supply; when the batteries wwere connected to it, they got charged in three to four hours. On hearing this, Shri Maharaj asked him, "Electricity is the same everywhere; then what is the objection to charging the batteries on the domestic supply instead of at the factory?. The man  replied, "The domestic supply voltage is very low; it will require at least eight days to charge a battery. The same job gets done in only four hours in the factory." Upon which Shri Maharaj said, "This is also what I was saying. Paying a visit to my Rama will be for you like a very quick charging of a battery: elsewhere it will take much longer. So each of you should pay a visit to my Rama every day."

Tilwankar Rama Mandir at Varanasi. (Sri Maharaj's Mandir)

[Daity.JPG]

When one lets oneself be one of God's own ........

WHEN ONE LETS ONESELF BE ONE OF GOD’S  OWN, ONE AUTOMATICALLY ACQUIRES QUALITIES SUCH AS DISCRIMINATION AND UNINTERESTEDNESS..

A woman once said to shri Maharaj, “ I am  convinced that one cannot attain God unless one acquires five qualities, viz., discrimination,  in-interestedness, awareness, total surrender, and steadfastness of the mind.” On hearing this Shri Maharaj said, “I did not understand your words. If a girl of marriageable age wishes that she should have parents-in-law, brothers-and sisters-in-law, can she enter into these relationships by herself, independently? These relationships come into being automatically when she marries the bridegroom. There is no need to do anything else. Likewise, all these five qualities can be acquired automatically by belonging to God and maintaining a ceaseless awareness of Him. Why feel dejected when such a simple remedy is available?”

If one makes Rama the Master of One's business of life, the result can only be fulfillment of its Goal

If One makes Rama the Master of One’s Business of Life, The Result can only be Fulfillment of its Goal

In every business there is a ‘year –ending’, that is, the time for assessing one’s income and expenditure during the past year and determining whether one has made a profit or a loss. When this was mentioned to him, Shri Maharaj said,  “ One should set the day before one’s birthday as one’s personal year-ending. On the credit side, one should include what one has done in respect of observance of the practice of worship during the year, and how often one has remembered God. On the debit side should be noted one’s failure to remember God, and the enjoyment of the desires of the senses. Then, after determining the balance, one should decide whether one has made a profit or a loss.” A bank officer said, “In our case there may be very few entries on the credit side, and the debit side will be found overflowing! We will find that the entire business is running into a big loss. “Shri Maharaj said, “ In practice one some times finds that there is an attractive, remunerative business at  hand, but that it is making a low or very little profit because there is insufficient supply of capital. The bank officer replied, “Yes, and in such cases we supply capital to run the business, and by improving the profitability of that business, we ourselves also earn a income from the interest.” Shri Maharaj said, “Some persons possess capital but do not own a business in which to invest it. In such a case, are they not looking for someone who owns a business but lacks capital?” The bank officer replied, “When such persons come together as partners, the business  becomes profitable, and both prosper very well.” Then Shri Maharaj said, “Similarly, to ensure that there is a supply of capital, one should make Rama one’s partner. Then, because all capital belongs to Him, all ownership should be vested in Him. When this is done, whatever transactions one conducts will be in remembrance of Him. Then, the transactions which had to be included on the debit side because of failure to remember God, will all be included on the credit side. Besides, once one vests the ownership in God, the responsibility of seeing that one never incurs a loss naturally rests upon Him. By thus carrying on the business of life, in spite of remaining immersed in everyday dealings, one may spend a life in the best possible manner so as to experience fulfillment.”

One's Body is a Pledged article, and not an owned one.

One’s Body is a Pledged Article, And not an Owned One

Tradesmen often possess gold in the form of ornaments. When there is need for money for conducting their trade, the tradesmen pledge the ornaments with a bank and obtain money against them. When the amount can be spared, they redeem the ornaments. Someone happened to mention this to Shri Maharaj. Shri Maharaj queried, “What would happen if one were to bring home for use the ornaments so pledged with the bank?” The bank official said, “It would be a crime.” On which Shri Maharaj said, “When God brings some one into this world, he pledges a body with him, and takes a loan symbolized by one’s span of life. As thelife gets spent, day after day, the loan gets repaid. When the span of life comes to its end one day, the body has to be returned to God. If one says that this body belongs to oneself, and acted accordingly, is the behaviour not like bringing pledged ornaments for use at home? Accepting that the body is an article belonging to God, and only pledged to us, we should constantly maintain an awareness of this. Thereby one’s bodily consciousness will automatically vanish. Then, just as the ornaments are returned when the loan has been repaid, and the banker does not feel bad about it, one ought not to feel anything when God takes the body back at the end of the life time. When this stage has been attained, one will have secured mastery over the dread of the final moment.
